Painters in Mississauga
Absolut Painting paints homes in Mississauga: interiors, exteriors, foyers, trim and cabinets. Most of the city was built after the war, and the houses are drywall with eight foot ceilings in the older subdivisions and nine in the newer ones, with the kitchen open to a family room. Port Credit and Lorne Park hold older houses that have been renovated more than once, and the lakeshore and Square One are condo towers. The painting changes with the house, so we walk it first and write a quote that lists each step of prep.
Mississauga, on the ground.
Open-plan rooms are the Mississauga signature. There is no door frame where one colour can stop and another start, so the choice of where the family room colour meets the kitchen colour is made on the wall with sample patches rather than guessed. Two-storey foyers are common and take a scaffold or plank for the upper wall. Older Port Credit houses carry plaster and painted trim with a long history, which means filling, sanding and priming before colour. Condo suites are new drywall with builder flat, and [the building's hours and elevator booking] set the schedule.
On site, furniture is moved and covered, floors protected, holes filled, cracks caulked, sanded and spot-primed. Two full coats, the ceiling and trim lines cut by hand, tape pulled while the paint is still soft. Doors and trim are sprayed where a dust-free area can be set up. The crew cleans up every day and walks the finished rooms with you before leaving, and a touch-up visit follows. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams paint, a [2-year] written workmanship warranty, insured and WSIB covered [John confirms]. John Kotlar quotes the work and leads the crew.
A Mississauga kitchen is usually seen from the family room, so where one colour meets the next matters as much as the colours themselves.
Mississauga is mostly postwar and later suburban drywall housing with open plans and two-storey foyers, plus older plaster houses in Port Credit and Lorne Park and condo towers by the lake and Square One.
Houses have deep driveways and attached garages for sprayers and scaffold, while condos need a booked elevator and the building's working hours.
Whole-house interiors, two-storey foyers, trim and doors, cabinet refinishing and exterior siding, stucco and trim are the common Mississauga jobs.

Questions from Mississauga
Our kitchen, family room and hall all run together. Where do you stop one colour and start the next?
At an inside corner, a bulkhead edge or an archway, never in the middle of a flat wall. On an open plan we usually keep the connected areas in one colour and change at a natural break, with a second colour on a wall that ends cleanly on both sides. We paint sample patches at those breaks during the walkthrough so you can see where the line will fall.
How do you paint a two-storey foyer?
With a small scaffold tower or a plank between ladders, set on protected floors and secured before anyone climbs. The upper wall is cut by hand at the ceiling and rolled in sections so the sheen stays even top to bottom. The chandelier is dropped or wrapped. A foyer is its own line on the quote because of the equipment and the time it takes to do that wall well.
Can you paint aluminum siding on an older Mississauga house?
Yes. Chalky, faded aluminum siding takes paint well once it is washed thoroughly, because the chalk residue is what makes paint fail on it. After washing, a bonding primer goes on where the original finish has worn through, then two coats of exterior acrylic. Painted aluminum lasts well and looks far better than replacing it in most cases. Exterior work is booked for warmer weather.
