Commercial and office painting

Absolut paints light commercial interiors across the GTA: offices, retail, clinics, restaurants, lobbies and corridors. The work is planned around your hours, so a shop is painted overnight and an office over a weekend or one zone at a time. We use scrub-resistant commercial paint, keep the site clean enough to open each morning and give you a written quote with the schedule on it before anything starts.

What moves the quote

No figures published. The drivers, in order.

DriverWhat we look at
Floor area and wall heightOpen-plan offices and retail with tall walls are measured in square metres of wall, and high ceilings add lift or staging time.
Working hoursAfter-hours and weekend shifts keep you open but shorten the painting day. Phased work adds set-up and clean-up for each zone.
Surface and finishPainted drywall is the baseline. Concrete block, metal doors and frames, exposed ductwork and previously wallpapered walls each need their own primer and method.
Durability requiredA quiet office does well with standard low-VOC paint. A clinic, a daycare corridor or a restaurant kitchen needs scrubbable or washable coatings.

The schedule is the biggest line on a commercial quote. Tell us when the building is empty and when it must be back in use, and the quote is written to those hours. Read the cost guide.

How this job runs

Walk-through, prep, paint, walk-through.

The four steps in full.

John walks the site with you during business hours, notes what must stay open and what can be cleared, and checks the walls for damage, old wallpaper or marks that need sealing. The written quote names the products, the sheen for each area and the shift schedule.

Each shift begins by covering floors and workstations and masking fixtures, signage and equipment. Walls are filled, sanded and spot-primed. Where walls carry scuffs from chairs and carts the lower sections get a scrub-resistant coating.

Two coats go on each zone, cut by hand at ceilings, glass and millwork. Doors and frames are done in enamel last. Every shift ends with the site cleaned and reset. The job runs [n] shifts and finishes with a walk-through with you or your facilities contact.

Questions about commercial and office painting

Can you paint while the business stays open?

Yes. Most of our commercial work is done after close, overnight or on weekends, with low-odour paint so the room is usable in the morning. Where after-hours work is not possible we paint one zone at a time behind plastic and move through the building with you.

What paint is right for a high-traffic wall?

A scuff-resistant commercial line. Benjamin Moore Ultra Spec Scuff-X was made for corridors and offices where chairs and carts hit the walls, and Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial covers similar ground along with metal and block. Both are low-VOC and scrub clean. We specify by area, not one product for the whole building.

Can you match our brand colours?

Yes. Give us the colour codes from your brand guide or a printed sample, and both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams can match them. We make a sample on the wall before the first coat so you approve the colour in the room's lighting, not on a screen.

Are you insured for commercial work?

Absolut is insured and WSIB covered [John confirms], and we provide the certificate your landlord or property manager asks for before we start. If the building needs a work permit, elevator booking or a contractor registration, we handle that with them.

How long does an office take?

A small office or shop is usually [n] shifts. A floor of offices with corridors and doors is [n] shifts, phased so staff can keep working. The quote carries the shift schedule, and we agree on it with you before the first drop sheet goes down.
