Painters in Milton
Absolut Painting paints homes in Milton: interiors, exteriors, garages, front doors and cabinets. Most of Milton's housing is recent, and recent housing has a signature. Nine foot ceilings on the main floor, smooth drywall, an open kitchen at the back of the plan and one coat of builder off-white over every wall and ceiling. The rooms are good. The paint that came with them was never meant to last, and it shows the first time a bag brushes the hall. Older Milton around the original town core is plaster and smaller rooms. We walk the house and write a quote that lists every step of prep.
Milton, on the ground.
The first repaint of a new Milton house is a primer and two coats, with the ceilings separated from the walls in a flat white and the lines cut by hand. Nail pops and corner cracks are filled first. Garages come up here more than anywhere else we work: owners want the drywall inside the garage primed and painted so it reads as part of the house rather than a shed, which takes a primer over bare or builder-sprayed drywall and a durable finish. Front doors in a colour are a small job that changes the whole elevation. The older core adds plaster cracks and trim build-up to sand back.
On site, furniture is moved and covered, floors protected, holes filled, cracks caulked, sanded and spot-primed. Two full coats, tape pulled while the paint is still soft. Doors and trim sprayed where the room can be sealed. The crew cleans up every day and walks the finished rooms with you before leaving, then returns for a touch-up visit. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams paint, a [2-year] written workmanship warranty, insured and WSIB covered [John confirms]. John Kotlar quotes the job, leads the crew on every Milton booking and signs off on the final walk-through himself.
Builder paint in Milton is the same one off-white on walls and ceilings, so the first repaint is as much about separating the surfaces as changing the colour.
Milton is mostly new subdivision housing with nine foot ceilings, smooth drywall and builder flat paint, plus a smaller older plaster core near the original town.
Wide driveways and attached garages make it simple to park and set up sprayers, and most main floors are a level carry from the door.
First repaints over builder paint, garages, front doors, trim and doors, and cabinet refinishing lead the work in Milton.

Questions from Milton
Our builder white looks fine. Why repaint a house that is only a few years old?
Because builder flat is thin, porous and unwashable, so every scuff stays and every attempt to wipe it leaves a shiny patch. A proper repaint seals it with a primer, puts two coats of a washable finish on the walls and separates the ceilings in a flat white. The house looks the way the model home did, and the walls can be cleaned for years. Most Milton clients do it in the first few years once the settlement cracks have shown.
Can you paint the inside of our garage?
Yes. Garage drywall is usually bare or lightly sprayed by the builder, so it takes a full primer coat and two coats of a durable eggshell or satin that can be wiped, with the floor and the door tracks masked. It is a quick job in an empty garage and much slower in a full one, so we ask you to clear what you can first. A painted garage reads as part of the house and is easier to keep clean.
We want a dark colour on the front door. Is there anything to know?
Two things. A dark front door on a sunny elevation should be painted with a heat-reflective exterior enamel or a colour from the manufacturer's range rated for doors, so the slab does not warp. And the door is best painted off the hinges, laid flat and sprayed, then rehung, or painted in place early on a mild day so it can close by evening. It is the smallest exterior job we do and one of the most noticed.
