Alabaster

Farmhouse-style interiors, exteriors with dark trim, and ceilings in warm rooms. A warm, slightly muted white that avoids glare. It does not go yellow the way older creams did.

Notes

Alabaster is Sherwin-Williams' most asked-for white, and it earns it. It has a soft chalkiness that reads warm without being cream, which makes it one of the easiest whites to live with on every wall of a house.

Outside, in Emerald Exterior, it gives a classic white house look against black windows or a dark door. Inside, it is a natural match for wood tones and warm greys.

Questions about Alabaster

Is Alabaster a good exterior white?

Yes. It is soft enough not to glare in full sun and warm enough to look settled against brick and stone.

Alabaster or Pure White?

Alabaster is warmer and softer. Pure White is cleaner and a little cooler, closer to a trim white.
